There is a similar-is idea in Horse, Foot and Guns (basically good commanders can double their PIP score once a game, poor commanders have -1 PIPs) but I think your way is better.JWHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01637785437909299947noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6558350314928035506.post-63538036967666223992015-06-23T13:21:18.056+01:002015-06-23T13:21:18.056+01:00Solid idea. It gives you a traditional "initiative roll" and it randomizes how many pips you have to spend on the coming turn. It also keeps with the game system since when you start losing commands, you pip allotment goes down.

As for DBA, you can nuance it up by grading commanders as good, average or poor. For average commanders roll 1 die for pips as per the rules. For good commanders, roll 2 dice and take the highest number. For poor commanders roll 2 dice and take the lowest number. Good commanders will tend to have 4 or more pips available to them while poor commanders will tend to have 3 or fewer pips available to them. You keep the range of 1-6 but the distribution is no longer evenly weighted for good/poor commanders.

JohnJohnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17580996687227953658noreply@blogger.com
